This photo was taken at a collaboration shoot with a old photographer friend of mine. It was taken outside with a whiteboard behind the model and we came up with the ideas of pouring water on his head. Took a few tries but we finally figured it out.

This photo is a representation of how we feel deep down in the human spirit. I would say there’s something that refuses to be conquered. There’s something in the human spirit that refuses to die. I don’t know what it is but in the dark it responds. In the dark it calls to you. In the dark it rages and rages again to the dying of the light. It’s calling to you and I know that there’s something still left in you. There’s something still there. I believe that.

I believe that what truly humbles us in this life is the realization that we’re all affected the same way. We’re hurt in different places and hurt by different things but all of it affects us the same way. Lost hope can destroy fate and a broken heart can wound-a spirit.

No one is immune from the ups and downs of life. The all of’s and what’s of’s and the nothings at all and the excitements of life.
