About the Artist:

Abdullahi Ahmad is a self-taught photographer who captures more than just beauty in his pictures—he tells stories. His love for history drives him to create captivating images that cover a wide range of subjects, from architecture to documentaries. He loves traveling and collaborating with different people and groups, using his camera to bridge cultural gaps and show the shared humanity among us all. Ahmad focuses on preserving the unique cultures of Northern Nigeria through his photography, aiming to immortalize them for future generations. Currently, he's exploring the beauty in everyday life while also delving into personal projects that delve into the rich tapestry of Northern Nigeria's tribes and cultures, giving a voice to stories that need to be heard.

About the Project:

I'm really curious about the world and how things work. This curiosity inspires me to make photographs. I pay close attention to what's happening around me, especially in my environment. Then, I use different techniques to create art that explores these things. My photographs are like a way of asking questions, breaking things down, and showing how all things connected. My work aims not only to illuminate these pressing issues but also to challenge conventional perspectives. By presenting thought-provoking narratives and visuals, I seek to engage viewers in critical discourse. Through this engagement, I aspire to ignite conversations, stir emotions, and cultivate a collective consciousness that inspires tangible actions towards a more equitable, sustainable, and harmonious world.

Ultimately, my art serves as a bridge between contemplation and action, inviting individuals to navigate the depths of societal challenges and become catalysts for positive change. It's an ongoing exploration, a visual dialogue that transcends the confines of the canvas, aiming to leave an indelible mark on both the observer's mind and the world we inhabit."
