About the Artist:

Hector Villalobos "La Variante Chola" (1996), is a photographer and creative director born in Lima - Peru. They have lived in Chile since 2016 and currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their work focuses on the documentation of everyday and local "fashion," emphasizing the role of the LGTBIQ+ community and the work of different actors whose work is linked to the preservation of latinoamerican culture and identity in the region.


About the Project : CHEPEC, CRIOLLA, DESIDERATE, NIA

Hector Villalobos documents street fashion and emerging artists in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He focuses on empowering the LGTBIQ+ community. He captures identity performance and the use of everyday objects as fashion. He uses local landscapes and highlights marginalized communities voices- preserving heritage and empowering communities through documentation.
