HER

YE FAN (Chinese, b.1986) After earning a degree in Marketing from Pepperdine University in 2010, she began working in the live entertainment industry in Asia, overseeing regional sponsorship for acts including the Rolling Stones, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Sir Elton John, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and others. During this period, she also photographed Metallica on their second tour of Asia.

In 2016, Fan relocated to New York City, where she studied at Columbia University, the School of Visual Arts. Fan was named one of the new generation Chinese photographers by Artsy.net and her work has since been featured in VOGUE Italia, Harper’s Bazaar, Teen Fashion, Artsy.com, LEICA LFI, the novel Café After Dawn, LensCulture.com, and part of the album work and cover work for country singer Ashley Campbell’s new singles in 2019.

Fan’s portrait work has won her awards including Photo Chronicles and best of PHOTOVOGUE Vogue Italia 2019 and her landscape series “Noir” was awarded by Life Framer in 2018. In May 2018, she held her first solo show, “Letters to PRC,” at 7s Art in New York and was part of the group show “Future Forward” in 2019.

She graduated from International Center of Photography Photo Journalism Program and Creative Practice Program in 2018. Currently a mentor at SALT New York and a creator represented by GIRLGAZE.
