Art Out: Andy Warhol 1967-1987 at Jack Shainman Gallery
Photographs by Joseph Rovegno
Jack Shainman Gallery is showing an exhibit of color photography by legendary pop artist Andy Warhol. The exhibit brings together one of the largest selections of Warhol’s stitched photos, some of the artist’s more obscure work. These works were created by sewing together silver gelatin prints in serial panels of four, six, or nine identical images. Subjects on view also include self-portraits, Warhol’s celebrity friends, and stark nudes, all taken using a Polaroid camera or a Minox 35mm. The exhibit is being shown through February 15, 2020.
