Federica Belli The language of photography is still among the most contemporary ones, despite the growing diffusion of other digital arts. Which forms of photography do you find particularly exciting in our time?

Sarah Andelman I love all kind of photography: still life, landscape, portraits. I like when it’s a unique captured moment, where you understand the photographer was at the right place at the right moment.

F.B. All of your endeavours, from the iconic Colette to your latest endeavour Just a Space, are brought together by an extremely contemporary and transversal approach to art. Which experiences and people in your life do you see as the main sources of such a fresh eye?

S.A. Travel is the best experience maybe, for the sense of discovery…

F.B. A big part of your work consists of connecting people who might create something interesting together, fostering collaborations between brands and creatives. Between widely known artists and emerging artists, who suits the collaborations format best and why?

S.A. There’s no rule, each project is different, and the perfect match can be with a famous artist or an emerging artist depend who’s the brand working with. I want to stay open-mind and curious and work on the right connections, making sense for everybody.

F.B. JUST AN IDEA BOOKS is a series of books with a fixed format, yet the artists proposed come from different fields and the content varies widely, giving life to a series that brings the wider public closer to art in an enticing way. Which void in the industry are you trying to fill with these books?

S.A. I’m trying to fill the void between these works mostly seen on the screen of your phone, on Instagram, and the people who appreciate these visions. I think the book is a nice messenger, intermediary option…

F.B. If you could share your approach to curating – and in turn, to life – in some sentences, what would those sentences be?

S.A. It’s very natural, I’m always in research, trying to find something I don’t know yet, something I have never seen, and when something touches me, I keep it for any kind of project…
