Moment: Cansu Yıldıran

06.03.2021 - Around 4PM, in Istanbul - Kadıköy, Womens Day Protests, four trans women were targeted and arrested by the police. Kurdish and LGBTI+ activists Yıldız, Hejar, Rukan and Güneş were violently arrested from inside a taxi as they were leaving the square after their press release. They were under custody for 24 hours, next day they were trialed and two of them were given house arrest (resisting the police), and all had given bans on leaving the country. This shows how the government imposes strict discrimination against trans-women and LGBTI+.
