6 Questions with: Vik Muniz [VIDEO]

Musée Magazine is proud to present our newest episode of…6 QUESTIONS WITH. Born out of our time of isolation, but as intimate as sitting across from a friend; we have asked some of our incredible artists from our latest issue to film themselves answering 6 QUESTIONS that we provide. Ranging from the motivation and execution of their work, to what may inspire their incredible genius, we encourage you to sit back and let these videos transport you into the mind of some of today’s most influential and exciting photographers.

For the third installment of this exciting new series, we feature Brazilian-born artist Vik Muniz. Currently based out of both New York City and Rio de Janeiro, Muniz is best known for mixing abstract and realistic concepts to create experiential artworks. Using several different mediums throughout his career (including ashes!), his work attempts to blend the physical world with an emotional, intangible one that speaks to people on different levels. Check out his full interview for his thoughts on his project Museum of Ashes, inspirations, and seeing the world through a photo negative view!

This series can also be found on our YouTube channel & Instagram IGTV.

For more information on Vik Muniz please see Musée Magazine No.23 Choices, now available at the Musée Magazine shop.
