Inviting a revolution of thought, Laura Aguilar’s series “Nudes in Nature” presents portraits of large-bodied women existing in unity with the earth, questioning why we hold one to an ideal of perfection and not the other.
Trust is the most intimate feeling that brings humans together, both consciously and subconsciously. It is a shared emotional experience that dives into vulnerabilities, bonds, communication, and togetherness. Eleven artists share their perspective on trust in a new exhibition, Trust Me, scheduled to be showcased starting August 19, 2023 and will go on till November 26, 2023 at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
Now showing at the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, Laura Aguilar: Show and Tell explores the artist’s work with the human body, the intersection of ethnicity and sexuality, and what it means to be a woman inside her own head.
