Chrysler Museum of Art showcases local talent with Brian Bress’ installation. Bress who is well known for his eccentric and humanoid characters follows up by creating Man with A Cigarette, his first full- scale figure presented on a video wall comprised of four slightly unsynchronized screens, creating a slow, smooth, lagging image. Bress counts his inspirations from a pen and paper drawing of a man in a thrift shop and an out of sync video wall at an airport. The installation addresses questions about representation, cognition and perception. Bress does this in a light, fun even cartoonish way.

In the Box continues until February 19th 2017 at Chrysler Museum of Art Norfolk Virginia.
