How did your series The Lioness come to be?
The bond between mother and daughter is something that is difficult to put into words. It is an eternal and irrevocable connection.
A cycle of femininity - Every mother was once a daughter.
Especially, in the first years of adulthood, that became quite clear to me.
The moment when you move from being a girl into being a woman can put the relationship with your mother to a test.
Questions of emancipation, education and coexistence are coming up.
My portrait series "The Lioness" deals with these questions and gives an insight into loving mother-daughter relationships from Berlin.
The work is a tribute to the self-determined mothers of my friends. I want to celebrate a new generation with my images and show where the Berlin woman of today comes from.
