About the artist :

Vincenzo Barone was born in Italy and lived there for some time. Then he found himself in France by chance. He was a musician, writer and philosopher. Currently he is a photographer. “My photographic research finds its focal point in the street, among people, in the quiet chaos of everyday life and the surprise of routine. Anything ambiguous, hidden in sunlight and shadow, can fascinate me. The human presence is essential in my photos, what is not seen and especially what is perceived in a nebulous way represents the true essence of my research. Reinventing the signifier of everyday life, creating a new reading code, like in a dream where what appears is not. I photograph almost exclusively digitally, moving from color photos to black and white photos depending on the current project or, quite simply, depending on what I want to convey. My photography is constantly evolving: a process that requires courage and chaotic discipline.”

About the project : TAROTS

The street becomes a dream within a dream in which conventional elements become something else, distorting their connotation. In a labyrinth of new coined meanings, where birds awaken us from our torpor, where windows suck us into houses where inhabitants whisper hidden secrets to each other. This is what the human eye does not see, but feels and transcribes in its own way channelling symbols, figures, entities in the torpor of this dream. Until waking up, avoiding breaking the balance.
