Museum of Sex | Opening June 10, 2022

The Museum of Sex is pleased to announce F*CK Art 2022: The Body & Its Absence. Ten years after the debut of the first F*CK Art show, the Museum has reinstated this irreverent group exhibition with a new, biennale inspired format that presents a survey of subversive contemporary artwork probing sex and sexuality in our current moment. The 2022 edition of F*CK Art features eighteen living artists, a majority of whom identify as gender variant or queer, whose work explores nuanced evocations of the erotic body. The Museum will host an opening reception on the evening of Thursday, June 9th and the exhibition will open to the public on Friday June 10th, 2022.

FOAM | 28 May - 12 October 2022

Foam proudly presents Blessings from Mousganistan, an exhibition by self-taught photographer Mous Lamrabat (Morocco, 1983). Beauty and a sense of hope are central to Lamrabat’s work. His photographs are playful and surrealistic, every so often subtly provocative, but always vibrant and fun. His work is exhilarating and at times a confronting fusion of his diasporic life, using beauty and humour to create powerful new narratives related to sensitive issues like racism, religion and women’s rights. In Blessings from Mousganistan, the artist shares a message of love through a colourful and eclectic visual experience.

“Forever Young – a philosophy, a promise, a hope? Icons captured in their youth are by definition forever young. There is beauty and sorrow in that capture. The American Dream - what is it? Fame. Greed. More Sex. Better drugs. Better Sex. More Drugs. And once achieved what does the dream become? Most of the icons in this exhibit died young after achieving the American Dream. Looking at these works with Russell’s signature diamond dust adorning many of them one could see beauty or one could see the price of a dream achieved. Mug shot. Glam shot. It is Forever Young. But at what cost.” -Andrea McCafferty & Kat O’Neill
