Fighters Don’t Quit is an ongoing multi-disciplinary photography project. Working with the young people at the West Chicago boxing club, The BLOC, the work takes two forms, photographic documentation and arts education.

Through the documentary process, a creative record is formed, of fighter’s achievements, struggles, and personal successes in the formative years of their youth. In our approach to the arts integration program, students are introduced to the basics of the photographic method.

Through the building of this foundational learning, students are encouraged to use the form as an approach to expressing their identity and building a visual language to reveal their unique view of the world. Through the Albert P. Weisman Award at Columbia College Chicago, a book of student work will be published in the summer of 2021.
