Weekend Portfolio: Rudi Geyser
Images and Text by Rudi Geyser
Muizenberg is a small seaside town on the outskirts of Cape Town where I used to spend a lot of my time growing up. After returning home from the UK, I naturally gravitated back there, lusting after nostalgic memories and wishing to relive the past. I found that I had changed and the place had stayed relatively the same. This project is a coming of age piece and is about coming to grips with fundamental life changes. For me this is about a sense of loss and an attempt to hang dearly on to the past.
After spending most of his twenties in the UK, achieving a BA in photography at University College Falmouth, South African-born photographer Rudi Geyser decided to return home to seek inspiration and gain a sense of identity through his work. Currently based in Cape Town, Geyser aims to explore narratives around lesser-told stories, particularly on the African continent.
More of Rudi Geyser’s work can be found on his website.
