Fotografiska New York is taking a deeper look at Florence Montmare’s “Scenes from an Island” on view on Fotografiska’s online gallery “The Foto Sessions”. The event will begin every Friday at 12pm with a mediation by Melani De Guzman. Guzman will take one chapter of Montmare’s work from the exhibit each week and exploring the following themes: interiors & exteriors, persona & rite, black postcards, and incantation & refuge. 12/11, 12/18, 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5 .

The Alice Austen House Presents Audre Lorde in Photographs and Historic Text. The Exhibit allows for communication and intersection between LGBTQ+ and Black Lives Matter while focusing on online extension and Scholarly talks due to Covid. Speakers include Clare Coss, Blanche Wiesen Cook, Jewelle Gomez, Cheryl Clark, Elizabeth Lorde Rollins, M.D. and Alexis Pauline Gumbs. Additionally there will be Artist lead Photo-walks around Stapleton, Staten Island including the LGBTQ Historic Landmark: The Home of Audre Lorde.
