Photographic Alphabet: G is for Ronen Goldman
By Tyler Austin
Ronen Goldman is a creative photographer based out of Tel Aviv, Israel. His images are collections of combinations, pieces that wouldn't be so visually stimulating if left separate.
His website states that one of the true pleasures of his photography is 'taking something abstract and non-concrete and transforming it into a twisted and meaningful reality of its own.'
Beyond the technique of merging images from two different scenes to create his work, he has a tendency to defy the laws of physics, exemplified in the images below. Goldman takes the laws of gravity and molds it to match the world that he wishes to create. The result is a look inside his mind as an artist.
His recent project The Surrealistic Pillow, has been critically acclaimed for its innovative thought and meaning. Goldman speaks on the series saying that it's a 'result of an eight-year quest to catalog these fragments of his dream life...' He fuses the real with the surreal, creating dream-inspired tableaus from the images that surface as he closes his eyes. See more of his work here!
