It always felt like a long day in that building. I was always multitasking; always dividing my brain a hundred different ways at once. For a while, I wanted to be the best at doing it all. I thought that’d make them like me more.
But after a little under five months, it became clear that this job was like any other. It sucked life out of me and my employer never had my best interests at heart.
One day, as I was working the copy machine, I realized I was still holding the flowers my manager asked me to place in a vase 20 minutes prior. And my eyes nearly rolled out of my head.
