Moving with children is rarely easy. They get attached to their surroundings and can make a big stink about the whole affair.
For some thirty-somethings, those “children” are actual children. For others, they are their animals. For me, they are my plants.
Like other parents may have done, I figured it was best to put them in a good mood before the big move. I stuck them on the sidewalk in the late afternoon sun while I loaded a truck.
Plants are fairly independent and mature children, I’ll give them that. But they’d be nothing without my caretaking. And I’m hoping they appreciate that.
