When they were here, she spent the days yelling at them. She felt they were unappreciative. Since her first positive pregnancy test, it seemed that all children did was take, take, take. She had lost a life to motherhood, and she made sure her children felt her pain.
Now, as an empty nester, she was lost. When someone becomes a mother, they are a mother for life, whether the children are around or not. She kept the house clean, but it felt lonely. She was able to read as much as she desired, but it felt empty.
Ultimately, she spent her time waiting for them to come home again.
