Musée Magazine embraces the wonderful hope that every picture stimulates an interpretation. This column is our tip of the hat to that concept, with a fictionalized text we’ve written to accompany a selected photograph.

He hadn’t expected to be wowed; he was quite difficult to impress. His mother, for instance, was getting increasingly frustrated with his full, detailed critiques of each planned activity and boiled hotdog. But, on that day, he would have admitted he was intrigued, even before the full totality.

There he stood in a field, with glasses from the library donned and a curiosity peaking. The world as he knew it would shift soon, and he had no idea what shift was coming. 

And then, the moment; the darkening, the universal awe in that grassy playground, and he exclaimed one word.
