While stretching his body out far enough to tip the boat, he tasted a blissful balance between relaxation and danger; like one would in the middle of a skydive or on certain drugs.
It’d been a day—no, a week—no. It’d been the past couple years—and finally, he was on the lake he’d swam in as a kid. If he breathed deep and shut his mind’s mouth up to hear the bleating of toads and the wind’s gentle stirrings, he could forget and smile.
What a gift it is to live and experience. He breathed out and took in his favorite place.
