It was meant to be a standard shot. But something happened—maybe the nurse was new or perhaps maybe it was something hidden in his levels—it wouldn’t stop bleeding.
He noticed on the ride home that his arm felt wet, and it turned out it was. A trickle of blood made its way out from the band-aid and down his elbow. So at the apartment, he put pressure on it and replaced the bandage.
Then again, an hour later he needed another one. He was disturbed and also nauseated. What could he do and what was happening? He couldn’t look at it long enough to figure out.
