Flash Fiction: Mr. Spencer

Working at the corner store is dreary. The customers are impatient and the rushes are soul-shaking. But one man cheers my heart and calms my mind, every-time: Mr. Spencer, from upstairs.
Mr. Spencer is so old that his apparent age deserves emphasis. His posture is frail, and he will teeter as though he could lose balance in a strong wind. Yet, he is stoic; he seems to carry the wisdom of a dozen lifetimes. So, I trust I’ll never see him fall.
Mr. Spencer uses an umbrella as a cane and never wears anything but a two piece suit. Between you and me, I think Mr. Spencer is not of this world
