It had all led to these final moves. Every other piece was lost in the wreckage of this soon-to-be-legendary game of chess—between the business man, and the security guard.
Mr. Allen was sure the game was his; everything was his. He leaned back in his chair with the confidence of a man who made money in his sleep.
But Mr. Smith was cautious. He had seen a lot of powerful men in his time at the guard stand; he had observed a consistent carelessness, and their assumptions of success. He hoped to use this ignorance to his advantage, if only he could figure out his next move.
