MUSÉE 29 – EVOLUTION

Evolution explores the concepts of progress, transformation, growth, and advancement in an age when images are taking a dramatic shift in the role they play in our lives.

Emerging Artist Interviews: BJ Formento

1. Tell us about your image: From the Energy issue we presented Sharylin in the desert levitating dishes.

2. What type of Energy were you trying to express or capture in this photograph?

Energy from in front and behind the camera.  We wanted to evoke a dialogue about the inequality women face.  From the different pay scale in the business world, to the inequality women face in cultures that still hold them as second class citizens.

3. Why Photography? What about it inspires and excites you?

We love the instantaneous gratification as well as the truth  that photography inherently has.

4. Our upcoming issue is centered around the theme of 'Fantasy'. What is your fantasy, right now?

Our fantasy right now is Japan! the understanding that we will never understand her.
