As the sun rose over the edge of the windowpane, she squinted and tossed towards the wall. She’d been tossing all night. Saturday evening was behind her and she remembered everything, a tell-tale sign of a boring night out.
She’d pushed herself, going alone with the dream of meeting someone, anyone really. Once she got to the hop, she was sure it was a mistake. The music was amazing, the one saving grace. Her toes had tapped on their own all night. And that was just it: alone.
Sunday was beginning, and the embarrassment of the night before still clung to her. She threw off the blankets and walked to the shower.
