Some miscreant poisoned the pond. I woke up to go on my daily walk, only to find a dead carp on the water’s surface.
What kind of person would do this? The evidence, the foggy bottle with a gold top, floated next to the fish: the weapon and the victim.
I’m sick of pollution, it’s in my lungs and in my backyard. We are the cause, and everyday I am more sure that we can never be the solution.
Maybe we deserve to be swallowed by the sun. The ancestors of this poor carp were here before us and I hope its descendants will remain after we’re long gone.
