It was loud, it was rowdy, it was underwater. I had never wanted to go on a cruise, but my wife insisted. Personally, I preferred the comfort of home.

After two days at sea, I was sick and ready for a bed that didn’t move with the waves. But my beautiful and vibrant wife told me to suck it up and take her out to eat. I swallowed my bile and put on a chivalrous show.

I put on the only collared shirt I brought and even spritzed some cologne. I held my wife’s hand and let her lead the way.

That night at dinner, despite myself, I smiled. How could I not?
