Draping the walls of London’s opulent Somerset House for Photo London’s ninth edition is a selection of striking and diverse photographs from over 120 exhibitors, 400 photographers, and 30 countries worldwide. The wide array of images offers broad appeal; there is something to pique any viewer’s interest. It also mirrors photography's fluid and all-embracing medium, a field with boundless opportunities to tell stories, share perspectives, reveal truths, and paint the very folds of our imaginations. Greg Gorman captures the dour sprezzatura of pop iconoclast Andy Warhol; Ellie Davies transforms a bare birch tree into a glowing cosmic seascape; and Sander Coers grapples with conceptions of masculinity through a sepia-tinged AI fantasy. Photo London is a bright reminder of all the magic and promise photography brings.
