Friendship is a bit of magic. If it remains, a once stranger now friend will become family, and then their soul will permanently mark your heart like a freckle, or tattoo.

Every year I want their birthday to be bigger and more important to remind them of their importance and my still growing adoration. This year, however, they wanted to dance and drink in the park before sunset. They said no presents and no surprises.

I showed up with a gift bag and they said, “Just dance with me.”

I laughed and grabbed them. I’ll hug that frame a thousand more times and, unlike us, it will never get old.
