Los Sueños (The Dreams)

When the Covid pandemic and the lockdown began, I had to stop my daily photo walks. Faced with the anxiety of confinement and the urge to continue producing images, I turned to the security cameras that could be viewed online. I started taking screenshots, at first with no intention other than to observe how the world looked in that particular situation.

In those times of total abnormality, I slept badly, sometimes during the day, and at night I would stay awake watching those landscapes in which almost no human beings appeared. Soon, these images began to populate my dreams and to blend in with my memories.

I also began to wonder: if this technology that is normally used for surveillance could dream, what kind of images would it dream of? What would those instants in which nature transpired beyond human surveillance look like? In this work I recover some of those moments of beauty that would otherwise be lost in the constant becoming.
