Weekend Portfolio: Tham Jing Wen

The ongoing series "Waiting" is about the relationship between people and an object that they use everyday without giving a second thought about it - the ubiquitous chair. They are in a sense the physical echoes of activities happening in their environment and these relationships take on new meanings when the chairs are discovered in unexpected environments and this usage then becomes the focal point of the series. Thus what is of interest to me is the mystery behind the chairs - they invite conjecture and possibly interesting stories - and I try to capture the scenes that hint at it.
