About the Artist

Karine Laval is a French-American Brooklyn-based artist born in Paris. She completed her photography and design education at the School of Visual Arts and the New School in New York. Laval’s artistic practice encompasses photography, video and installation/projection. Laval has worked on commissions for prestigious companies such as Hermès and Louis Vuitton. Her work has been reviewed and featured in international publications such as The New York Times, The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Sunday Telegraph, Dazed and others. Steidl published her first monograph Poolscapes in 2018.
