IN THIS ISSUE

Musée’s 16th issue, Chaos, investigates the concept of chaos in all its complex manifestations regarding ourselves and the environment. The 18 artists we are featuring represent the diverse layers of chaos expressed through the utilization of different mediums. For David LaChapelle, the instantaneous moment of a crash is chaotically beautiful, or for conceptual artist John Baldessari, eliminating the reason for being in a crowd invokes the questioning of our own identities. Meanwhile Penny Slinger embraces the expression of the feminine through the portrayal of a ‘dirty girl.’

Other artists represented are Alfredo Jaar, Federico Solmi, Sandy Skoglund, Fred Tomaselli, Gideon Mendel, Ana Mendieta, Amy Elkins, Jeff Whetstone, Jessica Dimmock, Weegee, Charlotte Cotton, Jessica Dimmock, Doug & Mike Starn, and Alice Winocour
