Often the days seem to stretch ahead of me with no landmarks to break apart the minutes. It can be a slog getting from the moment I rise from the pillow to the moment I fall back on it. Those days are strung tight with sadness and isolation.

In direct comparison, the days I spend with you are full. I leave for my pillow with memories of joy and lighthearted feelings that carry me through that night and the days that follow after.

I could sit by your side, staring out at the horizon, feeling the tide tickle my toes, for hours, and would never wish to miss a moment.
