I was born in Venice and every year since I was a kid the Carnival was one of my favorite moments of the year.

The streets were crowded with seemingly happy people dressed up in all sorts of outfits and masks. People ask to take selfies with them and everything around was covered in confetti. This picture was taken this past carnival, in February 2022. I actually have a picture of the same person that I photographed in Carnival 2019, and she was wearing the same outfit both times. This picture was taken at florian café’s in San Mark square, one of the most iconic café’s in Venice.
