In a bustling shipyard, somewhere in Cebu, Philippines. The sun had just begun to rise. As a street photographer, I am deeply fascinated by taking photographs of people getting ready for a day's work.

This green boat docked for repair caught my eye, with workers rushing up and down the metal stairs. I began to notice how the morning light cast these lovely shadows against the ship's green hull.

Then there was a man, with his back turned to me. I decided whether I should observe him closer; would he be aware of my presence? Would this trigger a reaction or result in the loss of the entire shot?

So I waited. I anticipated the ideal composition, with light and dark elements in play. The decisive moment arrived. With a plate of breakfast in hand, another docker moves up the ship ladder. I knew if I moved any closer, the man would turn around and look at me. He did.

At that moment I knew, this was the trigger.
