B&H presented The Portfolio Development Show on July 7 that was juried by the committee at Soho Photo Gallery.
The Portfolio Development Series arose out the needs of the Event Space attendees. They had utilized great free classes to help them master the technical aspects of photography, and now needed some organized motivation; that extra push to make photography their own; a structure within which they could take classes and give themselves self-assignments to get their work gallery-ready. This show is the result. It has been rewarding for B&H Event Space to see the progress their Event Spacers have made over the series’ five month period. B&H hopes they will keep growing and look forward to their future work.

Each participant submitted a mini-portfolio of 3 images. In addition to this show, at the end of July, they are taking over the entire gallery for a pop-up show, July 28-30, with a closing night reception on July 30, when all who ‘graduated’ with get a certificate.
B&H Event Space will begin a new Portfolio Development Series at the end of July (though this third season of Portfolio Development will be longer and be about the picture story), and like all of their workshops, it is offered entirely for free as a service to the photography community. B&H is committed to offering free photographic education.
