About the Series: Stranger Lives Images

The photographs in Stranger Lives offer us the opportunity to stare, to wonder and to fantasize about the lives of strangers. In this series the viewer is encouraged to investigate and to create stories about each subject by looking at the scars, veins and wrinkles on her skin, by the pattern on her blanket, the style and placement of her shoes and the items brought for both comfort and survival. This leisure activity has taken on a specimen like persona; each barely clad stranger presents himself under bright light, poised for observation.

Stranger Lives was made between 2008 and 2016 with a Mamiya RZ 6x7 medium format camera and Kodak Portra film.
