Wecyclers is a for profit-urban waste management company based in Lagos, Nigeria, which promotes environmental sustainability by providing individuals and families in low-income communities a chance to capture value from their waste through a point-based recycling system, while providing a reliable supply of materials to the local recycling industry.
The company, started by Bilikis Adebiyi-Abiola in 2012 and now headed by her brother Olawale Adebiyi, has generated over 200 jobs since its inception with a focus on women who make up 60% of its workforce.
In 2019, WeCyclers received the King Baudouin Foundation African Prize for Development and have since continued to champion waste management and promote environmental consciousness and sustainability in Nigeria.
