I was standing in an elevated position at the Bondi Baths in Sydney, Australia. Water shots are some of my favorites, and as I was admiring the beautiful color of the water this subject prepared to dive in. This was my moment to click. The labelled swimsuit, pink cap and yellow flippers added to my interest. I chose a diagonal angle as I thought it created more energy. The morning light on the subject was irresistible.

What triggers me to take shots like this is when all or most of my favorite photographic elements appear. Light, color, action, gesture, emotion. I like photographs that hold the viewer’s attention and create a sense of wonder about the story behind the image.
