Simultaneously fascinated by the traditional and the avant-garde, Taner Tumkaya tunes himself to the stillness of the new. He has been involved with fine arts, film and literature since he knew himself, always refreshing his perspective, yet remaining loyal to innovation. Born on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, having studied interdisciplinary arts in Europe, working a decade on the US West-Coast focusing on photography and video, he now lives in Berlin and experiments on narrative structures of moving and still images.
