Luis Alberto Rodriguez is a New York born artist of Dominican heritage, whose first career was dancing. After receiving his Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) from The Juilliard School in New York, Rodriguez toured around the world, carrying his camera with him. As he captured images of his friends and fellow dancers, he developed his unique vision that is heavily influenced by his dancing experience. His photography awarded him the Prix de Public, the American Vintage prize at 32nd Hyeres Festival of Fashion and Photography in 2017 and a feature in the Red Hook Labs New Artists in 2018.

Rodriguez's works mingle within the aspects of fine art, fashion and documentary photography in various combinations. He finds inspiration in different subject matters, but specifically the human body, as he views it as almost a sculpture with its forms, lines and unconventionally layered drapery. His latest project and his first solo exhibition, People of Mud, presented at PhotoIreland in 2019 from May 11 to July 31, was shot in black and white, which further explored his favorite topics yet also examined the local cultural heritage of Ireland.
