Art Out: Mark McKnight at Aperture Gallery

Mark McKnight is the 2019 Aperture Portfolio Prize Winner. The purpose of the Aperture Portfolio Prize is to identify high-quality work by new voices in contemporary photography. McKnight began to photograph hirsute, softer-bodied men, often people of color, deliberately obscuring their identities so as to render them as “armatures for concepts of loss, desire, vulnerability, and entropy.” The show will be on view at the Aperture Gallery from November 22, 2019 through January 18, 2020.
