Saman Genshin - Seen Worlds

A glimpse causes me to raise the camera and click. I then spend months, or years, rendering different worlds and moods through variations of a photograph. The images are taken on film and printed with photochemical processes and the variations are created from the materials' reactions to extremes of heat, light and time. The results are these images from a psychological world which I understand well.

Barry Guthertz - Falling Waters

The combination of the sight and sound of moving water has captivated me since childhood. Be it waves crashing, mountain streams gliding, waterfalls cascading or watching and listening to the tides changing along the beach, I find being near moving water meditative and therapeutic.

The challenge for the "Falling Waters" project was to create images where the image would trigger the viewer's imagination to perceive the sounds that accompany the image so the viewer both sees and hears water in motion.

Joan Lemler - Remnants
I continue to be intrigued by abandoned places, as I find beauty and serenity in the light and color of the remains. However, unlike my images of abandoned factories and offices, a forsaken home adds a layer of sadness along with the dust. It makes you ponder both what prompted people to leave as they did. Their crumbling home and possessions become ghosts of their lives.

Allison Rufrano - She Speaks to Me

My process is deeply rooted in examining the multi-layered facets of the female psyche. In this series, the investigation of those layers occurs through the manipulation of a single portrait. Pulling stills from animated gifs, the portrait is transformed through time and motion, changing the light, color and mood of the subject. The electrified imagery is softened using a unique alcohol transfer process embedding the photographs into the paper.

Michael Sackler - Reading the New York Times Building
THIS IS NOT A BUILDING. THIS IS NOT A NEWSPAPER. THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPH.This photo study explores the relationship between image, word and object by conflating images of the New York Times building and the newspaper itself through double exposures.The chance results explore alternatives to accepted notions of "good composition." In determining which photographs to exhibit, I've tried to develop and adhere to self-imposed criteria: Does the image exhibit density? Does the image exhibit formal patterns? Is the image readable?

Paul Stein - Understudies
Like the B-roll in a noir film, these flat-plane understudies are supplemental background shots. They are intended to complement and establish a context, an overall atmosphere, for actions in the foreground. But, in the absence of those actions, these understudies step into an enigmatic leading role of their own.

Hans Weiss - Dancing Souls of Canal Grande
For centuries, when darkness falls, a ceremony takes place in Venice. The souls of the founders of this dream-like city meet at Canal Grande and start dancing. For a few minutes, they show up as flickering lights, celebrating the magical essence of Venice-water, light and stone.
