Issue #15, Place Submissions - Svetlana Jovanovic
To celebrate Issue #15, Place, we asked photographers about their notion of place and how it has impacted their work physically, mentally, and emotionally. Over the next few weeks until mid-September, we will be posting some of the wonderful responses that we’ve gotten. Stay tuned on our Instagram & Twitter at @museemagazine to see if your work makes the cut.
The series ‘Unspoiled’ was created in Big Island, Hawaii, a mystical and spiritual place with all of its beauty, paradoxes and contrasts. There is something timeless about this place, serenity, detachment and a notion of belonging to a broader cultural and historical narrative. This is a short exploration of the complex human connection to nature and cultural heritage and how the sense of a place is inherent in our identity.
