Cancer (Jun 22 - Jul 22)
Cancer: This month, Cancer, the whole bevy of personal planets, all direct, moves quietly into a vital house in your chart, in fact the natural home of Cancer, an angular place of great importance having to do with roots of self, home, family, ancestry, and the depths of aloneness. With so much emphasis here you’re going to feel like holing up in September but there is a lot going on in the world, too, and the direct motion of the planets puts emphasis on embracing and hurling yourself towards the new. On September 14ththere’s a tricky Full Moon at 21 degrees Pisces, hitting a part of your chart that has to do with a philosophical, broad-minded perspective, and awareness of other kinds of people and places in this world different than your own conditioning and experience. This Full Moon is aligned with Neptune, the ultimate planet of detachment and freedom from possessiveness and personal roots. Neptune is the planet of love also and yet it is a spiritually-oriented love of oneness, and so you’re going to have a strong humanitarian feeling towards others midmonth that you’ll want to direct somewhere creatively, physically, so as to make a difference. Because, this ethereal, very heart-positioned Full Moon is opposite Mars, the planet of personal desires, in your house of the mind, which is going to put some subtle but very real pressure on your thoughts this month to visibly be useful, make a difference, or implement your desires, but you might not be entirely clear what your desires are. That is the trouble with Mars opposite Neptune. Jupiter finishes the last leg of these tense aspects, and forms the lot into a T-square, acting as a sort of pressure valve from your house of habits, routines, and mental and physical health. So, while there’s a huge amount of idealism and yearning for closeness and connection with people this month, there is a personal stake here that has much to do with compensating for something in yourself that feels less than spiritual, less than whole. Jupiter asks that you honor yourself though, and take good care of your mind and body. When Jupiter is in this sphere I think there’s a desire to hurl yourself through days and routines; there’s a pervasive kind of joy with this aspect, that can be draining because there seems to be very little time to just be, or relax. Try and see yourself a little clearly midmonth; it’ll be hard, to, but take some time alone and try. Maybe what you’re pushing for with others has more to do with yourself than them. Then end of the month there will be a New Moon at 5 degrees Libra, deep in your house of self, unaspected by any other planet, and this is an empowering, deeply self-illuminating aspect. You’ll be able to hone in on your feelings, ground them, and nurture yourself, before October begins.
