The New York Academy of Art is pleased to announce the Tribeca Ball will honor art collector and publishing entrepreneur Peter M. Brant on Monday, April 13th. Presented by famed French Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, the evening shines a light on the emerging artists of the Academy with proceeds supporting scholarships and public programing. The event chairs are Virginie & Nicolas Bos, Bob Colacello and Shelly & Vincent Fremont, the dinner chairs Marianne & Stellan Holm and Tony Shafrazi, and the junior chairs are Dylan Brant, Zani Gugelmann, and Vito Schnabel. Inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels’ newest high jewelry collection, this year’s décor will bring the French fairy tale Peau d’Âne to life for an enchanting evening of art, cocktails and dinner. The Academy’s six floors will reflect a ‘Once Upon a Time’ theme where guests become the main characters. During cocktails, guests enjoy an insider’s view of one of the country’s leading art schools, interacting with more than 100 emerging artists in their studios. The magic continues in Wilkinson Hall during a dinner honoring Brant for his indelible mark on the contemporary art world. Guests will be treated to a special menu prepared by Gotham Bar & Grill’s Alfred Portale with dancing to follow.

The Academy promotes the development of an artist’s personal vision and the creation of contemporary art by building upon the enduring traditions of figurative painting, drawing, and sculpture. The New York Academy of Art is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational and cultural institution, offering an MFA degree program and a full roster of continuing education courses. Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in Paris in 1906, following the marriage of Alfred Van Cleef & Estelle Arpels in 1895. Always striving for excellence, the Maison has become a worldwide reference through its unique designs, its choice of exceptional stones and its virtuoso craftsmanship, offering jewels and timepieces that tell stories and bring enchantment to life. For Van Cleef & Arpels, an ardent defender of the artistic crafts, passing on, sharing and teaching knowledge is a duty. In 2012, the Maison took an important step with the creation of L’ÉCOLE Van Cleef & Arpels, a nomadic school created for the public to learn about the history, savoir-faire and culture of jewelry and watchmaking. L’ÉCOLE Van Cleef & Arpels will visit the U.S. for the first time, arriving in New York in June, 2015.
