Harry Callahan: City

It's the subject matter that counts, but I'm interested in revealing the subject in a new way to intensify it.”

– Harry Callahan

Harry Callahan: City is an exhibiton currently running at the Pace/Macgill Gallery. The show exhibits 50 or so gelatin silver prints of urban landscapes. It is the staple for Callahan's career, the city. But unlike other photographers, he found methods to expand and evolve his subject matter, which often were limited to city life, his wife and daughter.

On view from January 9th – March 8, 2014 at Pace/Macgill Gallery, 32 E 57th St #9, New York, NY 10022.
